Talk to Neuro Physician on Blood Clots In Brain

person-avatar

Asking for Father, Male, 58 years old, Township, Lahore

My father is 58 years old. A few months ago, he suddenly lost vision in one eye. Initially, doctors suspected cataract, but later it was ruled out. After consulting a neurologist and running tests, we found that his sugar and cholesterol levels were very high. An MRI showed two clots in a brain vein, which doctors said were causing temporary vision loss and could lead to a stroke if not controlled. Since then, he has been on medication, and his sugar and cholesterol are now under control. He exercises regularly and has lost significant weight (from over 100 kg to below 70 kg). We are also following a proper diet plan. However, his overall health is declining. He feels weak, has lost muscle mass, and often experiences head heaviness and low blood pressure. He complains of pressure on the affected eye, restlessness, poor sleep, and difficulty thinking clearly. Recently, he also developed a sore throat, chest burning, and sharp head pain when coughing or swallowing. Despite controlled sugar levels, he is not improving and cannot tolerate stress anymore.

He is on medication which is preventing him having any more clots from his carotid arteries. But he also needs life style advice. You are welcome to consult online through Marham for that

Honestly, a lot more information is needed before any genuine advice can be given.

You don\'t want to miss something that is treatable in the early stages before it goes out of hand.
