How can I find treatment of Asthma?

Marham provides a platform to consult the best asthma specialist in Pakistan. You can book a physical appointment with the best asthma doctor in Pakistan from the above list. We are trusted by our certified and top asthma specialists (dama ka Doctor, sans ka doctor) who are known for their quality services and treatments based on their medical experience, practice locations, availability hours, patient reviews, and price range.

What is Asthma?

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the airways that causes breathing problems and makes some physical activities challenging. It is typically characterized by episodic attacks of breathlessness, cough, and wheezing which is referred to as  (“asthma triad”).

If you have asthma... It can be controlled! And you can live a happy, normal active life.

Pathophysiology of Asthma:

The pathophysiology of asthma is highly complex and mainly consists of three abnormalities:

  • Bronchoconstriction - A condition in which the smooth muscles of the bronchus contract.

  • Airway inflammation - A condition usually caused by pathogens or by exposure to pollutants, toxins, irritants, and allergens.

  • Mucoid impaction - A clinical-radiographic syndrome characterized by thick mucus filling the bronchi.

Diagnosis of Asthma

Asthma is diagnosed initially when the following three conditions may true:

  • Airflow obstruction is at least partially reversible

  • Episodic symptoms of obstruction of airflow are present

  • Alternative possible causes of this airflow obstruction are excluded by history and physical examination

Diagnostic tests and procedures

Since it is often difficult to catch the symptoms in action at the doctor’s office — and asthma is sometimes confused with other conditions — Asthma doctors in {{city)) rely on two primary tools to determine if it’s asthma.

The first is a person’s medical history and examination, and the second is testing. The most common lung function test is spirometry, and it can be used successfully on older children and adults.

A spirometry test measures how much air the patient breathes in, and how quickly the patient expels it. If the spirometry results are not normal, this is usually followed by giving the patient an inhalation of asthma medication to see if the spirometry improves.

Finally, once the best asthma specialist in Pakistan suspects that asthma might be present, the patient may be asked to try one or more appropriate asthma medications for a period of time. If asthma is present, the symptoms should improve upon taking the medication.

Antibiotics and over-the-counter cough and cold preparations will not make much difference if the symptoms are due to uncomplicated asthma.

Some of the most common complications of asthma are:

  • Asthma attacks.

  • Sleep problems.

  • Daytime sleepiness.

  • Fatigue.

  • Lack of exercise.

Many people with asthma also have GERD. Other complications include frequent respiratory infections, flu complications, and pneumonia.

What happens if asthma is not treated?

if asthma is not treated or well controlled, it can cause problems such as tiredness, stress, anxiety or depression, lung infections, and delayed growth or puberty in children. Poorly controlled asthma can also lead to severe asthma attacks that can be life-threatening.

How can asthma be controlled?

Discuss your condition with the best asthma specialist in Pakistan. Together, you can create a treatment plan that will help you:

  • Reduce impairment— so you can keep asthma symptoms away, keep up with your usual daily activities, and sleep through the night.

  • Reduce risk— so you can prevent asthma attacks, stay out of the emergency room or hospital, and have fewer side effects from your medicines.

Managing your asthma effectively means working closely with your asthma doctor/sans ka doctor in Pakistan, taking your medicines as prescribed, avoiding your asthma triggers, and watching for any changes in your asthma. These steps will help you to reduce impairment and risk so you can gain—and keep—control of your asthma.

When should you consult a doctor?

Sometimes people with asthma experience what are known as 'silent' symptoms. This is where signs of airway constriction do not lead to familiar asthma sounds such as wheezing and coughing.

If you or someone you live with, work with or care for is experiencing subclinical symptoms, it is important to talk to your asthma doctor in Pakistan for an ongoing asthma action plan. People around someone with asthma, such as co-workers, school teachers, or daycare educators, should be aware of subclinical symptoms and be able to respond if necessary.

Asthma can start at any age and can be a bigger problem if it starts in older people. If you never had asthma as a child, don't assume you can't have symptoms now. Shortness of breath is not normal as you get older, so you should always see your asthma specialist in Pakistan.
