Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vagina that may be caused by over production of vaginal bacteria or an infection caused by an invader pathogen. Reduced estrogen levels as occurred after menopause and some skin disorders can also be the reason of this inflammation. It is usually diagnosed by following signs;
- Abnormal smelly discharge from vagina
- Vaginal itching or irritation
- Pain during intercourse
- Painful urination
- Light vaginal bleeding or spotting
As it is an infectious inflammation so it is treated by the help of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory drugs.
