Question

my sister has chronic diarrhoea for abt a year now, has been rushed to the hospital multiple times due to this. she has lost a lot of weight and has become very weak, she feels cold all the time. after calprotectin test doc has advised sigmoidoscopy/colonoscopy and its prep gives severe diarrhoea. kindly pls tell will she be able to handle it as she is very weak (occult blood: negative, calprotectin: 136.7)

Patients usually feel lethargic during preparation but it usually does not cause any harm to the patient. Also colonoscopy is done under light sedation. So better to complete the prep and go for colonoscopy to reach a proper diagnosis
