Talk to Gastroenterologist on Severe Acidity
Asking for Self, Male, 31 years old, Gujranwala
I’ve had acid reflux for 4–5 years. PPIs control it, but heartburn, night reflux, and saliva from mouth return when I stop.
One 20 mg PPI works for ~7 days for me. I’ve seen 4–5 doctors; symptoms always return after stopping meds.
H. pylori was negative in the past. Stools are irregular with occasional gas, but digestion and hunger are good.
I stopped PPI due to borderline low B12.
Can reflux be managed long-term without PPI? Do I need a gastro check or endoscopy?
