Dr. Sahab i had an anaphylaxis event last october and was treated in ER at AIMS with adrenaline. I recovered in a couple of hours but the attack was severe. Recently, on 29th of march actually, i had another episode in Islamabad and ended up spending 4 hours at PIMS as they were not providing me the required treatment, my infection got intense. Anyhow i ended up getting three shots of adrenaline but now i am worried about the proper diagnosis of the trigger allergent which off sets this event. If you can me help or if it falls under your area of expertice, i will.book an appointment and come visit you in clinic. Thanks in advance.
Rule out the allergen, try to remember what things were common in both events i-e. drugs, food, insect bite etc
book online consultation for thorough history and clinical examination.
your activity 2 hrs before the episode ,symptoms of anaphylaxis ,provided treatment to you and necessary investigation at the time of anaphylaxis and prevention of such episode needs consultant level and specialist level care don't waste time if you had a severe anaphylaxis episode visit allergy center in islamabad need skin prick test for common allergen ..if you had still doubt book online visit I will guide you towards necessary action.
I don't live in Islamabad. Usually people get pollen allergy in Islamabad. Wear mask while going outside and try to rule out the allergen.Take Tablet Softyn 10mg for 3months in the morning andTablet Montiget 10mg at night for 3months. Get done your CBC.IgE,RBS,Vitamin D,ESR LFTS. Send the reports and have online consultation.
Aoa, this seems really concerning and your worries are extremely valid.
Have you found out about the trigger that has caused this reaction? In any case, please always keep an EpiPen with you and learn how to use it in case it happens all of a sudden and you're unable to reach help in time.
For now, please keep yourself under observation. Observe if you get itchy, hives, rashes, shortness of breath, redness after EVERY ingredient you consume, any drugs you've recently started or any new product you use, or even any seasonal changes. Also mention if you've previously had any family history of asthma or anaphylaxis.
Additionally, there are certain diagnostic centres that do Skin Patch allergy tests where you can go and list some allergens that you might suspect be the triggering cause. The tests are harmless but atleast you'll know what to avoid.
The focus right now should be identifying the causative agent.
Good luck! And for further inquiries you can book appointment with me.
