I have anemia, extreme gastric issues, and occasional black stool (especially after taking Iberet). I also experience sharp stomach pain and fatigue. Could this be due to stomach bleeding from gastritis or an ulcer? What tests should I get to confirm the cause?

Iron Supplements (Iberet) can sometimes darken stools, but they usually don’t cause pain or fatigue unless there’s another issue.
Do the following test
CBC, Serum Ferritin and iron studies
Fecal Ocult blood Test /Stool H pylori
Life style midication is needed
avoid spicy caffein,carbonated drink and chocolate etc and NSAID(Pain medication)
Eat small and frequent meal
drink more water and in during meal
avoid lying immediately after eating
take iron on empy stomach with Vit C but avoid with milk tea or coffee etc
elivate your head while a sleeping
To confirm your stomach Issue You may need
Esophagogastroduodenoscopy to check for gastritis, ulcers, or bleeding sites in the stomach and duodenum
Yes this can be due to gastritis /ulcer
But you do said investigation then will proper guide you

Stop iberet for one day and see if your stool is black or not ! Afterwards you can follow by consulting a specialist if the problem is still there

Iberet folic causes black stool. You have to take iberet folic with vitamin C. It will help to digest it easily. Secondly the stomach pain can be dua to ulcer, so complete evaluation is required for proper diagnosis.
