I get high blood pressure, my head also hurts with high bp. I got myself checked twice. on insisting doctor prescribed blokium if I the bp gets high. both my parents have high bp. what do I do.

Does your Headache is associated with any other symptoms like Nauseated feelings, Tachycardia.
What would you like at the time of headache, a cool & calm room VS Market noise,Stronge car lights, Standing in sun.
How is your Sleep,Do you feel fresh in the morning.

High bp. 150/100-90.
Checked on multiple occasions, digital and mechanical both.
I can feel the difference in headache if its from bp or if its something else. Nauseated feeling only today, bp is high mostly in the morning. yes I think it is noise related.
Waking up is mostly fresh, rarely not fresh.

1:Migraine Headaches (usually accompanied by High BP)
Treatment: will take about 2 weeks to effect.
Tab.Hitop 25mg Aik Raat Ko 7din,phir aik subah aik sham ko atleast 3 months.
Tab:Inderal 40mg
1/2 + 1/2 3 months
2:To Rule out Secondary HTN,we have to do some tests
TFTs, ECG, ECHO, Renal doppler, Serum Cortisol, Urea/Creatinine,
Urinary VMA, Eye Examination.

5% secondary causes,Like Thyroid,Kidney,Adrenal glands issues.
That's why you have to do test.

1. What is your BP with Blokium, and before blokium?
2. What is your pulse rate?
3. You need to get Serum sodium, serum potassium, serum creatinine and chest x ray done. (Also serum TSH fromAga Khan lab.)
4. your detailed history needs to be knoen
5. In general blokium (beta blockers) are not the choice first-line medicine to give for BP.

without blokium, 150/90. with blokium 120 80.
pulse is around 80-85.
I did capoten today to lower the pressure.

as you are very young, you should not taken capoten or any other medicine from the ACE inhibitor or ARB group until you have checked that serum potssium, serum creatinine and doppler ultrasound of renal arteries are all normal.
As I said, taking medicines by yourself without a complete consultation with an expert can be very dangerous.
if only blokium 50mg is not controlling your BP to 130/80 or less, you can add Tab. Norvasc 5mg once a day
