Talk to General Physician on High Fever, Cough, Soar Throat, Measles
Asking for Other, Male, 12 years old, Karachi
My son is having high grade fever for a week now, having sour throat, and cough too. Rashes appeared just 2 days back and he is not taking any solids for these three days, engulfing water is now difficult for him. I am only giving him panadol tablet and brufen tablet alternately 4-5 hourly. Can I give him any anti allergy or acefyl for cough?

you need to take him to the nearest emergency. fever is been there for a week now. rashes are there. go to the hospital get him checked. please
You should test for dengue serology and blood CBC should be done as soon as possible.

Aoa , this child must has been reported to near by emergency pediatric clinic within 24-48hr of rash appearance + sore throat+ fever inorder to do clinical examination, blood investigation and antibiotics to be started as needed + rehydration bolus. so kindly visit to clinic . thanku
How do you know that it is measles? Please share the photo of rash on the body and photo of open mouth. Does the fever go down after Panadol or Brufen?

Tablet Softyn 10mg once a day

You shd take him to the hospital
it is better to get a cbc test done. anti allergic and cough medicine is for symptom only. it is good course of action if disease is viral.
Is fever still not controlled with panadol and brufen? Are you giving both tablets together? We can have an online consultation. You cannot call it measles only. This case needs an urgent consultation with a doctor. Since high grade fever has lasted a week, poor oral intake since three days, difficulty drinking water, rash and fever and cough all together. Please consider a proper consultation.

he may have infection in his throat get him checked from ENT specialist.or other wise take appointment for quick treatment
