Asking for Mother, Female, 75 years old, SIALKOT
Slaam, My mother got fever about a month ago with severe headach, we used panadol for 3 days, after that we went to doctor, at doctor office she suddenly started shivering and lost her control with her body with extrem fatigue and started vomiting, for next two hours she vomited about 15 times, she become extrem sleepiness and only open her eyes for 2 to 5 minutes. from that day we have gone to many doctors and hospitals, but she is not recovering, we have don all the basic tests like CBC, S/E, RFTs, LFTs, blood culture, CSF culture through LP, Citi Scan, Urin tests, all tests are clear except the Urin because there was an infection, we are using high doses of antiboitics but she is not recovering, even UTI is clear, but she is still the same as she was one month before, she is getting fever everyday which is about 99 to 100. But the main problem is that is she is in extrem sleepiness condition and she is extremely fatigue. from 24 hours she wakes up hardly half hour, in which we gave her some foods in liquid form. Please if any doctor can help us, i am ready to pay any fees for online consultation. Thank you.
Walaikum Assalam I’m sorry your mother has been going through this The persistent fever extreme drowsiness severe fatigue recurrent vomiting and especially the fact that she is barely waking up are concerning and should not be managed only with antibiotics at home She needs urgent in person medical assessment preferably at a hospital or ER to reassess for causes such as ongoing infection metabolic or electrolyte abnormalities medication effects or other neurological or systemic causes Please do not wait for her to recover on her own If she is difficult to wake confused unable to drink having breathing difficulty seizures or her condition is worsening please take her to the ER immediately I can review her previous reports medications and treatment history during an online consultation and guide you regarding what further evaluation may be needed but given her current level of drowsiness an in person assessment is essential
She needs hospitalisation and proper treatment. Her Electrolytes may be disturbed. If she is bed ridden, bed sores may develop and can cause infection. Need proper checkup and examination.
