Persistent Unbearable Cough

Persistent killing cough from more than 7 days 
tried antibiotics steroid cough syrup. nothing worked I am unable sleep and  to sit the whole night as whenever I lay down it starts again. throat is swollen due to  are super sensitive now, tired of spitting phlegm out from lungs during coughing.
feel like dying is better option than to in this condition of coughing.
