Tab Singulair 10mg once daily at night for 3 months.
Flexonase Nasal Spray two pups in each nostril twice daily for two weeks.
1) Figure out underlying allergic trigger. Get an allergy screen test done.
2) Avoid the allergy triggers. If an environmental allergen is identified in the screen, try and decrease that substance in your home and work environment.
3) Use an intranasal steroid spray such as Fluticasone (1 to 2 sprays per nostril per day). Intranasal steroids are more effective than antihistamines, though their peak effect may require upto a month of continuous use.
4) In addition to, or instead of intranasal steroids, a non-sedating antihistamine such as Fexofenadine (60mg twice a day) may also be used.
5) Apply petroleum jelly ( Vaseline) to the inside of your nostrils three to four times a day.
