What is the effect of removal of thyroid gland on persons life. My friends thyroid has been removed and now there is a big change in her life she is tired most if the times she use to be very lively person and now she's doesn't take interest in many things . she gets angry and irritated veri fast . she is married and she is worried if this condition remains through out her life she could have face many problems in her personal life. She is married and have two kids . sometimes her behaviour is not understood by her close ones. She feels helpless for many things. She is on thyroxine 50 mg and labs are in normal range.

hello there, she needs to be seen by a good endocrinologist to check her bloods to make sure there are no other related issues and it may be the case she needs more thyroxine at the moment, however dont decide anything by yourself and consult doctor for the repeat blood thryiod test and advice.
