It’s common practice to call every headache a migraine. Migraine has triggers and mostly unilateral. Prominent features are nausea vomiting light and noise intolerance and in classical migraine visual aura like zig zag lines starting from one side and moving across the visual field. Cause is dilatation of the blood vessels located on the meningeal coverings of the brain. Most often a muscle contraction headache or tension headache is mistaken for migraine.
