Fleeting numbness of hands and feet is known as paraesthesia. Generally speaking without localisation to one side or one limb numbness of hands and feet is regarded as evidence of anxiety. It is caused by temporary lowering of calcium levels from where they are required. This is caused by a condition called hyperventilation ( over breathing) which is common in anxiety. Treatment is simple. This condition can be easily treated by breathing in a paper bag so that you rebreathe the same air. Try this next time it happens.
