You may have muscle contraction headache also known as tension headache and it is caused by contraction of scalp muscles over a period of several days or weeks. The cause is usually unresolved issues., it’s accompanied by sleep disturbances. Paracetamol or other medication doesn’t work and in fact you might start getting another kind of headache which is known as analgesic withdrawal headache. The treatment is complete withdrawal of paracetamol and other medications. Resolution of symptoms then may occur but often consultations with a physician is required to rule out other causes of headache
