I think you are suffering from epilepsy and there is a possibility that you have had these attacks all your life but never got them investigated. In any case you must inform the licensing authority and stop driving straightaway because it can lead to serious accidents and lead to injury or death of the passengers. Treatment of epilepsy is simple and there are effective drugs that will stop the attacks but you will need to continue the treatment for a minimum period of 2 years after the attacks have ceased. You don’t need a face to face consultation. The first investigation that you need is EEG which records your brain waves and assesses whether there is any abnormal activity that would be causing the epileptic attacks. MRI can only show us the pictures of the brain but does not give us any information about electrical activity in the brain
