when a person suffers from OCD, he or she has intrusive thoughts that cause severe distress. the content of these thoughts differs for different people, some have religious themes, others have thoughts of contamination or cleanliness and some have sexual thoughts.
the treatment remains the same. In my experience although it is a tough disease to treat, however patients do get a lot of relief.

Yes we do treat religious OCD and it can improve with treatment. There are effective treatments available to make people feel better. We treat such conditions with both medications and psychotherapeutic interventions such as CBT, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). If you have any queries i will be happy to answer those. We can always help the patient even though sometimes we do face problems but we can always discuss and explore those with the patient. Please feel free to ask. Thank you

Yes. Religious OCD is a recognised form of OCD in which unwanted intrusive thoughts create guilt, fear and repeated reassurance-seeking or rituals. These thoughts do not reflect a person’s true beliefs or character.

With proper treatment, many people improve significantly through psychological therapy (especially CBT with ERP techniques) and, in some cases, medication.

If you are struggling with distressing religious thoughts or compulsions, you may book a confidential online appointment so your symptoms can be assessed properly and a personalised treatment plan can be discussed respectfully and professionally.
