Talk to Psychologist on Stammering
Asking for Self, Male, 28 years old, Hyderabad
I have had stammering issue since childhood. My father also has a slight stammer. When I studied at the madrasa I was beaten a lot and there were some issues at home as well so my childhood was spent in fear. Currently I am taking homeopathic medicine and it's been almost two months but I haven't noticed any difference and about 6 to 7 years ago, I also tried speech therapy for 2 to 3 months, but that too didn’t make noticeable difference either. When I am in a fearful or angry situation or when there are many people around or in the job interviews I am unable to speak and my stammering becomes much worse. Should I see a psychiatrist for this condition?

you should seek help from another speech therapist if previous one proved not to be effective.also take sessions from a clinical psychologist to deal with anxiety.no need to consult a psychiatrist.
