When I woke up, I saw this mark on my hand and it was burning, Rats in my kitchen, is this a rat bite? What should I do if it is a rat bite?

Wash it with soap ,clean it with antiseptic, needs tetanus shot and visit clinic for further management.

Hi,
Doesn\'t really look like a bite mark but it\'s better to take precautionary measures:
- Wash it with soap and water.
- Look for any danger signs like itching, redness, pain, rashes, fever, body pains etc
- Get a tetanus shot in any case if you haven\'t had one in the last year
Also try and get rid of the rats in your kitchen. They could be hazardous to you and your family\'s health. Good luck!
Have you previously had rabies vaccination? If not, it\'s better if you get one. Vaccination doesn\'t necessarily harm you in any case so if this IS infact a rat bite, it\'s better to get that vaccine immediately.

Indus hospital and Jinnah Hospital in Karachi do not administer rabies vaccine for rat bites, but I recently got 2 boosters. one on 19 April 2026
and 2nd 22 April 2026, and I got rat bite (which is not confirmed) on 24 April 2026

Help me clarify please. If you got boosters of rabies, then you\'re good to go. All you need to do is wash this with normal soap and water. Apply antibiotic ointment and let it heal on it\'s own. Keep an eye out for any increasing rash, pain, fever or vesicles. Other than that, if your vaccination is complete you don\'t need to get it again.

It doesn\'t look like bite mark because if a rat bites,there will be bleeding because it\'s teeth are very sharp can damage wood also.Consult a dermatologist.
