I was pregnant with twins right after my Marriage but due to family issues, stress, mental and emotional abuse by in laws, I lost my both twins in premature birth. That tragedy affected me and my husband a lot. We both suffered a lot as nobody was there in our home to console us (we had a joint family system), anyhow both of us supported each other through thick and thin and became parents Alhamdulillah again with healthy kids. But with the passage of time the situation in my in laws house became worse all the time taunting, mental, physical abuse. But this made me a totally different person which I was never ever. I am emotionally weak now I have severe anger issues and its getting worse day by day. I am now a mom of three kids younger one is 4 months old and two toddlers. This was all the history. The problem is I want to fix my anger issues as this is making my kids afraid of me. I cannot bear loud crying. I often slap my kids and later on I regret a lot. I was a person who love kids so so so much nobody can imagine that I can harm or abuse a kid both mentally and physically. But now as I have my own kids I am unable to control my anger due to past traumatic events.

First of all, whatever you have done in the past has only harmed you. You tried very hard to be a good daughter-in-law, but is it really possible to please everyone? Did you ever give importance to yourself? Did you ever respect yourself? What did you get from your in-laws in return? Only rejection.
Now, you are scapegoating your children. Once again, you are not only hurting yourself, but also damaging your family. Anger is not the only issue here. You need to learn not only how to manage your anger, but also how to develop healthy interpersonal skills. Otherwise, your children may copy your behavior and start showing the same negative patterns.
