This is a cancer of human brain more specifically of the Glial cells in the brain and commonly called as the Brain tumor.
These star-shaped cells are found in the cerebrum and called as Astrocytes. That’s why this disease is named as Astrocytoma.
Causes
A definite cause of this disease is still unknown. But it is thought that it may develop due to a medical condition; neurofibromatosis.
Genetics may also play role in the development of Astrocytomas.
