Asking For Self, Male, 1 Years old, lahore
My baby has been diagnosed with HIE stage 3, microcephaly and infantile spasm. He is on Levitiracetum and Sodium Valporate. He did not cry at birth and developed crying sound at 4 months. I have noticed that he does not respond to pain. He does not cry when getting vaccinated. Once by accident his head hit a wall but he did not cry. Even in hospital he did not cry when canola was inserted. His left side of the brain was damaged due to lack of oxygen at birth. Can anyone please explain how serious the situation is and what concerned doctor should we approach?

Baby needs proper checkup by pediatric neurologist, as he is already on antiepileptic drugs so he must be on consultation with his doctor, kindly revisit his primary Peads neuro dr for further guidance and workup.
sodium valporate is not good choice under 1year of age reconsult pediatric neurologist, also consider overdose of these medicines leading to sedation or are u giving some other medicines causing sedation, is he on NG feed as usually in such condition baby doesn't take oral feed.
