Talk to Pediatrician on Baby WBC (40000)
Asking For Someone else, Daughter, Female, ?9 Years old, Islamabad
My daugther is going through continous high fever since 4days, we have done blood cp, crp, appt, pt/inr. Blood cp showed 39000 wbc and crp is 51. Please tell me what is the possible reason behind it. Our doc has started antibiotic injections (IM). They tried IV but baby veins are very thin and failed to insert conola.
looks like some infection is there
some other tests are performed or not?
I think go for Iv medication instead of Im. It won’t work long. Get blood c/s.

Yes Miss, we are taking it very serious.. our docter has started 740mg dose of rocephin for 7days. We have done cp today again and waiting for the result

this is something serious. acute leukemoid reaction 2nd to sepsis. plz screen all cultures. urine culture is must. good abx cover is must. if clinically not settling , must go for IV.
2ND issue is iron def. will take care later.

We have recieved the blood cp and now rbc count is 14700 whic was 39000 in previos report. Is it good improvement in 3days?

Go for Blood Culture sensitivity, Sr. uric acid.
Get admitted in nearest children unit, and after proper work up, IV medication must be started.

Antimalarial, IV antibiotics, Antipyretics must be added in treatment. there must be some further work up, and consultation by pediatric hematologist.

Need proper examination for better managment
blood cs should be done before starting Antibiotic and with such high fever and increased WBC comments would be done after thorough examination... so get her complete examination ....
- This CBC, show serious infectious problem, so patient should be hospitalised, for further evaluation, by senior Paediatrician.
