Asking For Other, Female 2, lahore
My daughter is 2 months old and has colic. She cried a lot. I want to know what the feeding requirements are? How much milk is enough for her.
What type of feed is taken by feed. For colick we need a good feeding history so better to consult paediatrician for further updates either face to face or online consultation
baby on mother feed or top feed
baby on mother feed or top feed
Feed her every 2-3 hourly as per her digestion but not repeat feed earlier than 2 hours
mostly infants are crying due to indigestion and overfeeding not due to hunger usually
if she is breastfed feed her 2 hrly and of she is formula fed then give her 2-3 once 4 hrly. if she has colic give her ez colic drops one drop 3 times a day for 3 months.
IST rule out cystitis. do urine re test. sometimes baby cries do to infection in urine
Breast Feeding is Best..Feed her from Each breast 08 to 10 mins Total 18 to 29 mins. In b/w if she cries don't feed. Make sure you take o8 to 10 glasses of liquid milk , lassi juice or tea or water. Have healthy diet yourself.
if cries too much give Infacol drops 1/2 drooper thrice aday.
Make Sure you BURP BABY AFTER EACH FEED.
Colic is defined as excessive, frequent crying in an otherwise healthy infant, lasting more than 3 hours per day, more than 3 days per week, for over 3 weeks. colic resolves on its own by age 3-4 months without medications.
Feeding should be based on hunger cues rather than a strict schedule. On average, babies this age drink about 3-5 ounces of formula or breast milk every 2-4 hours. Keeping your baby upright during and after feeds, and burping frequently can also help. If colic symptoms persist or worsen, discuss with a pediatrician to rule out reflux, milk intolerance, or other concerns. Dr. Raza
