If your 7-month-old baby passes stool frequently, especially during or right after feedings, and about 4 times a day, it can be normal, especially if he is exclusively breastfed or on formula. At this age, a baby’s digestive system is still developing, and if he is active, gaining weight properly, and not showing signs of weakness or dehydration, there may not be a major concern.
However, if the stools are very watery, your baby seems uncomfortable, or his weight gain is not on track, it’s important to consult a pediatrician. Have you recently introduced any new foods? Sometimes, a change in diet or formula can cause this. Ensure proper hydration, and if your baby is eating solids, you can try offering mashed bananas, rice water, or sabudana, as they may help firm up the stools. If the diarrhea is severe, lasts more than 7 days, or includes fever or blood, seek medical advice immediately. Dr Raza
