Asking for Other, Female, 0.8 years old, Australia
My baby has had severe reactions to dairy since infancy. She initially tolerated formula for five days but later developed vomiting, lethargy, paleness, and coldness after formula at 9 and 12 weeks. At 6 months, a teaspoon of yogurt triggered the same symptoms, raising concerns about CMPA or FPIES
About 1.5 months ago she had 10 days of diarrhea which eventually resolved. However, in the last two weeks, she’s been experiencing on-and-off diarrhea 2-5 loose stools/day along with a runny nose, cough, and two single-day fevers. Doctors believe it’s viral, but mucus in her stool makes me wonder if it could be gut inflammation or dairy passing through my milk
She hasn’t been eating solids for 10-12 days. Previously she has eaten rice, yellow lentil, wheat, chicken, lamb, fruits and veges fine.
get her checked physically
It could be CMPA/ FPIES, triggered with acute viral infection . Stop dairy completely, can use hydrolysed formula, give ORS if seem dehydrated, use banana, yogurt, Enterogermina ampules once a day and see response, if appears severely dehydrated or looks unwell, go to local emergency department for assessment
Get child checked physically
Yoy need Consultation .
Quite surprising that ur baby having CMPA is thriving on normal formula. I am sure u have consulted lots of doctors. If you are on a regular follow up of a doctor/ child specialist then do not worry. May be this is just viral infection causing the symptoms of mucus. Keep trying solid food. Sometimes baby refuse during sick days.
I will help u through homeo medicine..but I need ur history before treatment...for details history book appointment through Marham app
