Asking for Other, Male, 7 years old, Karachi
Dear doctors, Kindly check the reports and suggest best possible treatment in this case. Is there any treatment that can be less costly? Mother of the patient took has taken him to various hospitals in Karachi and Punjab, but she found no success. The boy was treated as TB patient by a famous welfare hospital. Current doctor has suggested two (2) operations that are very costly for the mother as she works as maid in houses.
Apart from your professional expertise, I request you and other individuals to let me know if any kind of help can be done for kid.

This 7 year old child's problem is obviously a complex one and need help from Pediatric Gastroenterologist and a Pediatric Surgeon. He needs a definitive diagnosis, nutritional support and an ongoing follow up by the above specialists.
Giardiasis may not be the primary pathology.
Financial issues also need to be addressed. Look for a good charity hospital in Karachi. Try Indus hospital. His primary physician Dr. Anis may be able to help in this regard.

Currently he is being treated at Ziauddin by top gastroenterologist. Is it fine in his case?
* Previously Indus hospital told them to take the child to any other hospital by saying that his treatment is not possible at Indus.
*Even other hospitals deny to treat him in case of fever, etc.
*The child is advised to undergo Operation on 2nd of May for:
(1) to open Esophagus connecting to stomach
(2) to join a vein connecting liver and heart (there is leakage of blood from this vein)
* Medication changes according to condition
*All these things have been described by child's mother

If the child is being treated by the top gastroenterologist at Ziauddin Hospital and is scheduled for surgery on 2nd of May, family should stay with the same team of doctors as they know the case better.

This child needs a gastroenterologist review as well as the general work up is missing. Please take the child to Indus hospital if there are financial restraints.

7 year, 8 kg (what the mother remembers, she can see his ribs)
Endoscopy: He remained healthy till one year age afterwards he was unable to eat anything and do vomit. 4-5 months ago endoscopy was advised and findings showed that opening of his food pipe is narrow or closed. He can intake liquid only.
No intake of acid ever
