Acute Diarrhoea is mostly viral at this age and usually self limiting. The use of antibiotics is not warranted in an otherwise healthy child. She needs only to be given oral rehydration solution (ORS) after each watery stool with a cup and spoon, slowly. If she starts to have recurrent vomiting, becomes irritable or lethargic or does not pass urine over a long period of time, she might need review by a child specialist and might need a drip. She can have paracetamol for her fever if it is more than 38 degrees centigrade.
