Hello! Any child specialist can help me please?? My niece is 7 days old and she got jaundice,, today is 6th day of jaundice, sometimes she breath fast and at that time I felt jerks on her head.. Why it is so?? And her first vaccine is still pending.. Please let me know about the right time for first vaccination. Thank you!
Hi, if your niece has Jaundice she needs to be reviewed by her doctor to see whether it needs treatment or not. Same thing if she is jerking with her head. The first vaccine the children get is BCG and OPV which is given at the time of birth. After that it is at 6 weeks of age and not before. You can find information regarding vaccines in Pakistan on http://www.epi.gov.pk
Joundice in the Neonatal age is dangerous. Shift to hospital they will do some investigation and then admite your baby. As soon as possible consult in hospital.
need complete examination.if possible make video while jerking
I agree that baby needs to be seen by a qualified Paediatrician to assess the severity of jaundice.
However, jaundice is VERY common in newborns and majority do not need any treatment.
Regarding the breathing pattern which you have mentioned, it sounds like periodic breathing which is common in first few weeks of life.
Without seeing the baby, can not comment on head jerking. It may be nothing or may be due to a health problem.
