Asking For Other, Male 1, lahore
he was waking up for like 4 5 times at night, that was okay, but suddenly 2 weeks before he started crying excessively after every half hour in his day sleep and in his night sleep. I have tried patting, shushing etc. but he is only consolable when I pick him up. he still stirs he sometimes won't take milk or pacifer just keep stirring. he was teething he pooped his upper 3 teeths but still his is bad in his sleep. now I'm extremely sleep deprived and having light head. one Dr suggested me melafort 2 times a day 5 drops I have given him it for a week but still no improvement. Dr then gave him brufen for pain too but nothing. I don't want to give him medicine that have no effects. he drinks his milk fine around 30-35 ounce per day. I also give him a solid meal before sleep, every night I have the same routine for him but nothing working
get him checked by paediatrician otherwise looks normal he will be alright after some time
any pamper rash any formula change and excessive cow milk intake can cause gastritis and excessive crying at night.
how much feed you are giving to child is it enough according to his daily needs
Vitamin D deficiency and low calcium can cause teething difficult
brufen should be given to the child under 5 years as it causes gastritis
feed solid at least 4 hours before going to sleep do proper massage to baby with oil and console him with comforting techniques if still in pain then syp.paracetamol can be given
if this is the recent change in his behavior any uprolling and drooling or any sign of CNS involvement need to be assessed
sometimes nasal blockage at night also disturb kids so add normal saline nasal drops every 2 hourly
if any other abnormal sign need to be assessed physically by pediatrician
Assalam o Alaikum,
At 8 months, babies often face sleep regression due to teething, developmental changes, or separation anxiety. Since your baby feeds well and is otherwise active, this is usually temporary.
Try:
Calm bedtime routine, low lights, white noise.
Teething comfort (teething ring / chilled clean cloth).
Avoid unnecessary medicines unless prescribed for a specific issue.
If fever, ear infection signs, poor feeding, or continuous crying occur, please book appointment with Pediatrician for check-up.
In my opinion your baby is taking cow milk , having phosphate that combines with baby's calcium then destroy the calcium which leads to irritable behaviour and stirring gait.
Start weening diet and advise CBC PF, serum calcium, Vit D level, and also provide me the weight of the baby.
