Asking for Someone Else, Other, Female, 3 years old, Lahore
Doctor, my 3-year-old daughter has had fever since Thursday night, up to 102°F, with throat pain and one episode of watery vomiting. She was examined by a doctor, who felt her increased breathing was due to fever and found no obvious breathing difficulty. Typhoid is suspected and blood culture was taken yesterday at 11:45 AM. Preliminary blood culture now says: “Gram negative rods seen in the smear examined.” Final identification and sensitivity are pending. CBC: WBC 6.1, platelets 134k, Hb 11.2. ALT 53 U/L. Urine examination is essentially normal. She is currently taking Azomax (azithromycin); Ceclor was stopped by the doctor.
Wait for the full blood culture report. Continue with the medications.
