When the sebaceous glands of the skin start overworking, skin pores can become clogged forming red lesion due to the clogging and infection may develop in these forming pimples in the skin. Pimples can erupt at any age but most of the time it occurs at the puberty. During puberty, hormones changes occur and the sebaceous glands in the skin become overactive. Pimples affect the areas where sebaceous glands are most dense such as the face, back, chest, and shoulders. Acne is the most cause of pimples in the youth it affects the 80 percent of the youngsters.

Symptoms of Pimples

Pimples would most commonly appear at puberty and people with oily skin may face it regardless of age. Symptoms include the appearance of bumps that are pus-filled, red, and painful. Pimples clear out slowly and may scar skin if not attended or mishandled.

Causes of Pimples

Pimples are caused due to clogged pores of the skin. In case of hormonal changes at adolescence and during pregnancy these are common due to overactivity of sebaceous glands. Pimples can also occur due to insufficient skin care and hygienic practices. Other causes can be :
