Summary about Nephritis in English

The kidneys are bean-shaped organs that filter the blood to remove excess water and waste. Nephritis is a condition in which nephrons, functional units of the kidneys, become inflamed. This inflammation can affect kidney function. Nephritis depending upon its type may affect parts of kidney such as glomerulus, tubules, and interstitial tissues. 

 There are three types of nephritis with different causes. This inflammation arises due to infections and toxins or by autoimmune disorders. Pain and urine problems are indications of this problem.  While some types appear suddenly, others develop as part of the chronic disease and require ongoing management.   2. Pyelonephritis:
    This type of nephritis is mostly a result of infection due to . Other possible causes are cystoscopy, kidney stones, and surgeries of kidney or bladder.
  3. Glomerulonephritis:
    The exact cause of glomerulonephritis is not known however it is more prevalent in cancer patients. It can also result due to immune disorders and abscess that may travel to the kidney via blood.

People who have a family history of kidney problems, recent surgery of urinary tract, undergo excessive use of antibiotics and patients suffering from immune system disorders are at an elevated risk of having nephritis.
