For proper treatment, a detailed history especially feeding history is required. Anyways, ensure adequate fiber intake by offering foods like prunes, pears, apples, peaches, and whole grains. Increase fluid intake with water and diluted fruit juices (like prune or pear juice) to soften stools. If the child is on formula or cow’s milk, reducing excessive dairy might help. Encourage physical activity like crawling or walking, as movement aids digestion. If constipation is severe, causing pain, hard stools, or discomfort, you can try pediatric glycerin suppositories occasionally but don’t overuse it without pediatrician’s supervision. If it persists beyond couple weeks, it’s important to rule out underlying conditions like food allergies, hypothyroidism, or Hirschsprung’s disease. Dr. Raza
