Asking for Self, Female, 20 years old, Pwd Islamabad
My baby was 1 to 2 months old when I developed mastitis. I thought it would get better with time, but instead, it became fully red and hardened. I informed my gynecologist, and she prescribed antibiotics for 7 days. When it didn't improve, she recommended Augmentin injections in the vein for 7 days, morning and evening. Pus formed after the injections, and got drained out on its own, leading to healing. and after some time wound everything got cured. But I noticed that my affected breast had become significantly smaller than the other one. When I discussed this with my doctor, she suggested that continuing to breastfeed the baby would help in recovery and size improvement. However, my baby is now 9 months old, and despite exclusively breastfeeding for the first 6 months, my breast size has not increased and is too smaller than other one.
