Asking For Other, Female 6, Mianwali
my 6 years old daughter has an issue that she can't control her urine.i don't know it's a medical issue or psychological matter.earlier we ignored thinking that she was a toddler now she is a school going kid but she still faces this issue even during the day time.she don't have any medical history or any other health related issue.she is very confident and don't hv any parents pressure on her.please suggest some effective steps. Thanks
is it day time or night time concern ?
or both ?
did you toilet train her properly ?
does she got control at any age or not achived uptill 6 years ?
ASALMOALIKUM,
1st detailed history is required
was she able to control urine at any age before that?
did it start recently after school or it was there from beginning?
is there bullying in school or any concerns regarding dirty washrooms?
did she have any infections in past?
did you get her ultrasound done before?
Should begin with General Physical examination, focusing on spine. Follow with basic lab evaluation - urine complete and culture test. Once other medical conditions have been excluded, then restrict fluids after 8pm. She should go to toilet before going to bed. Parents shoudl take her to toilet before they go to bed. Reassure the child. Might need some medicine or alarm device to alert parents.
