Summary about Ewing Sarcoma in English

Ewing sarcoma is a rare type of cancer in the soft tissues of the bones. This type of cancer occurs in the long bones of the body. This cancer begins in the long bones of the pelvis or arms but it can in any bone. In rare this cancer occurs most of the time begins in the arms, legs, and abdomen. A major advancement in the treatment improved the outcomes. But after the treatment, the patients have to look after the late consequences of the disease. This type of cancer is more common in teenagers and young adults but it can occur at any age.  

Symptoms of Ewing Sarcoma

• Pain and swelling around the site of the tumor.
• Fever
• Weight loss
• Decreased appetite
• Fatigue.
• Paralysis

Causes of Ewing Sarcoma

An abnormal Genetic exchange between chromosomes 11 and 22 is the cause of the developing Ewing's sarcoma.

Risk Factors of Ewing Sarcoma

• Age (children): Ewing sarcoma occurs most often in teenagers during puberty or younger children.
• Race: Caucasians are at a higher risk for developing Ewing sarcoma than African Americans or those of Asian descent.
• Gender: Males are at a slightly greater risk.
