Summary about Vaginitis in English

Vaginitis is an inflammation of the vagina that can cause vaginal discharge, itching, and pain. The cause is usually a change in the normal balance of bacteria or vaginal infections. Reducing estrogen levels after menopause and some skin conditions can also cause vaginitis. The most common types of vaginitis are, Bacterial vaginosis resulting from a change in normal bacteria in your vagina due to the proliferation of other organisms Fungal infections are usually caused by a natural fungus called Candida albicans Trichomoniasis, which is caused by a parasite and is often transmitted during sexual intercourse. Treatment depends on the type of vaginitis. It is usually diagnosed by the following signs;

  • Abnormal smelly discharge from the vagina
  • Vaginal itching or irritation
  • Pain during intercourse
  • Painful urination
  • Light vaginal bleeding or spotting

As it is an infectious inflammation so it is treated with the help of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory drugs.
