Summary about Cold Sore in English

Climate change, such as the sun or the wind, can trigger a recurrence of a cold, says Okeke-Igbokwe. Abrupt climate changes the body's immune system, which increases the risk of catching a cold if you already have one, of course, the virus. Cold sores, also known as fever blisters, are a common viral infection. These are small blisters filled with liquid in and around your lips. These bubbles are often grouped into patches. After the rupture of the bubbles, a crust is formed on the wound. Oral ulcers usually heal in two to four weeks without scarring.

Cold sores are transmitted from person to person through close contacts, such as kisses. They are caused by a herpes simplex virus (HSV-1), closely related to genital herpes (HSV-2). Both viruses can affect your mouth or genitals and spread through oral sex. Cold sores are contagious, even if you do not see the wounds. There is no cure for HSV infection and bladders can come back. Antiviral drugs can help to heal cold sores faster and reduce the frequency of their recurrence.

Treatment:

No proper curing method is available to fight against it but some self-management techniques like ice or cold water implement and nonsteroidal ointments can help.
