ITP (Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura) tab hota hai jab antibodies - aam tor par respiratory ya gut infection ke baad - body ke apne platelets par attack karti hain. Spleen antibody se coated platelets ko germs samajh ke destroy kar deti hai, jis se count gir jata hai.

Agar platelets 20,000 se upar rahein, to koi treatment ki zaroorat nahi - bas bachay ko chot se bachayein. 20,000 se neechay ya bleeding ho to doctors aam tor par pehle steroids start karte hain; IVIG aur anti-D injections options hain agar steroids kaam na karein.

Agar ITP saal se ziada chal jaye (chronic ITP), to agle steps hain spleen nikalna (splenectomy) ya immunomodulators jaise rituximab. Yeh last-line options hain steroids aur IVIG fail hone ke baad.
