Summary about Spondylosis in English

The term "cervical spondylosis" is a generic term for age-related wear affecting the intervertebral discs of the neck. As the discs dehydrate and contract, signs of osteoarthritis develop, including bone protuberances along bone margins (bone spurs). With age cervical spondylosis is very common and it gets worse. More than 85% of people over 60 have cervical spondylosis. Most people have no symptoms. When symptoms appear, non-surgical treatments are often effective. Spondylosis is a vast term referring to the degeneration of the spinal column due to any cause. Commonly it is caused by constant abnormal pressure, from joint subluxation, sports injury and poor posture following symptoms may predict the spinal degeneration

• Tingling, numbness or weakness of the limbs.
• Lack of coordination
• Difficulty in walking
• Abnormal reflexes
• Muscle spasms.
• Loss of control over bladder and bowel

Patient education for lifestyle alterations, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), physical therapy are mostly used for its treatment.
