Just after breaking my fast, I decided to do what most people do not even think of. I stood up went to my room and decided to do this. I placed my right foot above it and with a heavily beating heart I decided I’ll put my second up too. 2 kg up? How was it possible?.
Yes, I was standing on a weighing machine 2 kg heavier. With a racing heart, I quickly stepped down and pushed the weighing machine away. Fixed myself up, tried to gain main consciousness back before someone saw me. The whole time after this incident, the only thing upsetting me was those 2 extra kgs that I gained, god knows how!. Without even eating much, what was disturbing me? Then I figured out, it was bloating.
Bloating has many culprits behind it. Sometimes it is food, sometimes it is your laziness and sometimes it is water. We fail to understand what actually is upsetting us. Every other person’s body is insensitive to different things. But bloating in Ramadan is what everyone experiences for sure.
Why Does It Happen?
Bloating during the month of Ramadan is due to several factors, some of them are;
1. Slow metabolism due to prolonged starving hours.
2. Inactivity after iftar
3. Access to copious amounts of sweets at iftar parties
4. Most common one is overeating when we break our fast.
Excessive eating, consuming oily and fatty foods leaves us feeling bloated, lazy, and upset. Abdominal bloating is when the abdomen feels full and stuffed. It commonly occurs due to a buildup of gas and causes the tummy to look larger than usual. Fluid built up in the body can also lead to bloating.

- Rub straight across the upper belly area toward the left rib cage.
- Move slowly down toward the left hip bone.
- You can repeat this anytime you feel bloating.
