Attached are two rounds checkups i got from two different eye specialists. But both have different/opposite readings. Please let me know why and how is this possible? And what should be my course of action?
there can be difference between autorefractometer readings. its not a big issue. but final number is always what patient is comfortable with. you can use the number with which you are comfortable and have better vision. but if your number is continously changing, then you need complete eye examination
It is very much possible to get somewhat different readings from two different machines. The autorefactometers always consider your eye as a physical entity, but infact your eye is a living biological entity. The readings can be influenced if you are exerting or accommodating or squeezing your eyes at the time of examination. That is why we always give you a trial with different lenses and than give you the prescription. Otherwise we can simply give you the no which the machine shows. But that is never the case.
Both are almost same and not opposite. Kindly look carefully before making this statement. The autoref readings are objective and can vary from machine to machine with a little difference. The final is the subjective response of visual correction that patient accepts after seeing with the trial of various lenses I’m trial frame. Use which you like as both are almost the same and not opposite.
