Dear concern, I have extreme fatigue and weakness for almost 2 weeks though taking healthy diet. yesterday i got my ferritin test done and the result shows 8.5ng/ml. I feel like sleeping everytime, have no energy to do anything just want to lay on bed all the time. Kindly suggest me why am i having such feelings. Your serum ferritin level should be at a minimum value of 10ng/ml to be considered normal for your age (normal: 10-120 ng/ml for 18-39 year old females).
Necessary tests:
CBC
Peripheral blood smear
TIBC
Urinalysis of fresh urine sample
Stool testing for the presence of hemoglobin
Tissue lead concentration
Also some questions need to be answered.
1. Are you having normal stools or are they too black in color?
2. Are you having normal periods or is there too much blood loss?(normal loss: 10-<80ml. > or = 80ml is abnormal).
3. Have you undergo any type of bariatric surgery?
4. Do you feel pain during urination?
5. Are you a strict vegetarian or do you eat too little meat (white or red)?
Only after lab reports and answering these questions can I determine the cause of your iron deficiency anemia. However start taking multivitamins and/or iron supplements right now preferably manufactured by vitabiotics or webbernaturals.
