Stop solid food 6 hours before surgery. Can take clear fluids UpTo 4 hours before surgery. If patient is weak, IV drip can be administered.

Dr but my surgeon said for 12 hours fasting , which difficult for me , it’s ovary Dermoid cyst removal laparoscopy, which Iv drip can I take during fasting ? It’s any supplementary drip ?

2. stop eating semi solids 6 hrs before surgery
3. stop drinking juices 4 hrs before surgery
4. stop taking water 2 hrs before surgery.
