I’m a sports person and you can call me a fitness freak to an extent. Since the day I’ve started training. I haven’ t found anyone to guide me properly. I’ve been on my own and had explored many things with my personal efforts. All through this time I’ve heard many people suggesting “ don’t lift weights or else you’ll end up in very bad shape if you quit”.

Sometimes people even say “why do you want to lift weights? do you want to be a bodybuilder?”. On top of everything, they even convinced me by saying “you are not fat, why do you need to gym?”. By doing gym they meant why do I even use dumbbells?. Strange, isn’t it?. People even question your decision about staying fit. Huh well! don’t listen to anyone because I’ve got some very justified tips for you if you want to use dumbbells. But please, don’t start bodybuilding lol.

Most of you probably already know that hitting the weights at the gym or doing bodyweight exercises makes you stronger and fitter. But what many people don’t realize is that strength training does far more than that for both your body and your mind.

We’ve got these nicely assembled tips for you to go through. If you’re already a lifter, these perks just might make you more excited to hit the gym.

    Boosts Our Metabolism

More muscle mass helps us to burn fat even when our bodies are resting. Cardio is a somewhat effective way of building muscle but, according to trainers strength training is a much better and effective method.

So, if we are exercising enough (body weight exercises through resistance equipment etc.), we might even be able to put our idle time in shedding some good amount of calories. Though the amount of calories burnt depends on our basal metabolic rate (BMR)

    Helps Protect Our Bones

Some recent researches have shown that prevention of bone loss can be helped through weight training. Plus, it also helps us in staying active and reduces the risk of injuries.
Weight training or similar exercises are also known to possibly eliminate osteoporosis.

As much as it may seem to be surprising, older people (60/70+) are highly encouraged into weight training as it can be very much beneficial for them.

    We Sleep More Peacefully

Not sleeping well? Strength training here has got your back.

A study found that elderly people who practised moderate-intensity resistance training for 12 weeks had better sleep quality compared to older folks who stayed sedentary over a six-month period.

People might also notice an evident increase in their energy level throughout the day when they have taken up weight training.

But, keep in mind that these exercises may come in the way of your sleep if you are doing it close to your bedtime

    Keeps Us Sharp And Fresh

Building up muscle strength can definitely lead to better brain functioning. In fact, research proves that it can also improve mild cognitive impairment in adults. according to many pieces of research. The people who lift weights perform very better in their cognitive tests as compared to people who only do stretching.
“The stronger people become, the greater the benefit for their brain”. Yorgi Mavros

    Stress Zapper

It is proved that working out is the best therapy for any type of stress and anxiety. People hit gyms when they’re stressed out, under pressure or upset and according to them, it has proven to be their best way out of trouble. Dumbbells can be used in a variety of upper and lower body and core exercises, and they’re also a convenient option because they can be used pretty much anywhere: the gym, home, and even outdoors. Dumbbells don’t require any setup – just grab and move. They’re easily transported, don’t take up much room, and if using two is too much, just drop one and keep going. So there’s no excuse for not lifting weights. Try them and let us know if they’ve helped you too.

    Increases Our Range And Flexibility

One of the most effective ways to overload muscles for strength or muscle-building purposes is to increase the range of motion. Lifting weights are the best way through which you can gain muscle, lose fat and improve flexibility. Dumbbells can add a new exciting activity to your workout and can keep you toned too.

    Quick Results

Since working out with dumbbells will gradually increase strength in your body while building muscle and burning fat quickly. This happens because using dumbbells usually burns more calories in comparison to other exercises.
It shows quick results and on the other hand, it takes less time than other cardio workouts. Perhaps the most evident advantage of dumbbells. It merely takes an hour and burns more calories than the hours of cardio.

    Safer Than Others

Some exercises can be done more safely with the help of a dumbbell. It requires no heavy movements. There’s no pressure on the back, cervix, stomach or any other place. So this eventually makes it easier than other exercises to perform.

Improve Our Posture and Can Reduce Back Pain

Weight-training will strengthen your back, shoulders, and core. It will also help to correct bad posture so that you can stand taller, with shoulders back and spine straight. A stronger back and core will also prevent lower back pain.

    Gain Strength Without Bulking

One of the most common reasons women avoid weight training is because they are afraid of getting broad and bulky. This is a misconception as it physically cannot happen. Women simply don’t have the testosterone to build muscle like men. Women have 10 to 30 times fewer chances than men and have a much harder time gaining size from strength training. Instead, women develop muscle definition and strength without size.

These tips were to help you decide the easier side of workouts. Staying active means staying healthy. Try to move more, train better, lift weights and stay happy. Try lifting lighter weights because girls, we don’t want you to look like guys :P. If you still don’t trust our research and are confused about whether you can do dumbbells or not, we have another option for you too.
