it seems your mum is having possible complication associated with poor control of diabetes called peripheral neuropathy.This at time can be very disturbing and impacts hugely on Quality of life.where it is extremely important to have effective blood glucose control.Symptoms associated with this condition that include pain burning can be controlled with medication.Also ensure she hasn't developed swelling redness of foot joints a condition called charcot joints .please send your mums results like hb1ac, urea and electrolyte, TFTs, B12 folate levels, and her current glucose monitoring diary and medication list
its better to advise about medication after having look at bloods ad list of medication
