I am diagnosed with Fistula I have this since last 3-4 years and there's puss drainage too. I have been told by a surgeon that only surgery can fix this and that it will take 2-3 months for the wound to heal and there's a chance of reoccurance too. I wanted to ask from the experienced professionals that is surgery the only option I have? and should I go for it now? I am just passed out from university and looking for opportunities will the recovery process be a hurdle in that? Please answer. I have attached my MRI report.

surgery is the curative treatment for this disease and the healing time or recovery depends on the type of fistula low or highy and also if there is need of seton placement or not.... anyways examination is the key towards surgical planning..... if someone has examined you he can ezplain your concerns better
