Salam, I'm 37 weeks pregnant and its my first pregnancy. My family (MIL and Mother) both want me to have few drops of castor oil after 38 weeks for progression of labour but I am a very curious person and did a detailed research on use of castor oil. Every article is AGAINST the use of such oils. Please tell me specific medical disadvantage of use of castor oil for inducing labor. Also I can't refuse it as they would mind it. What to do?

You can use caster oil for a single use its a laxative sometimes results in diarrhea and sometimes initiation of labor pains so it is safe in pregnancy after 37 weeks for single use ????

dear i hd it in my last pregnancy same at 38wks-but if u dont agree then DONT-castor oil causes uterine contractions...wch if v strong can hv adverse effects...
